Job Description

Stop the Press! Calling all Semiconductor Process Engineers I want to speak to you about a very exciting opportunity with high visability working for a Medical Device Manufacturer who are bringing ground breaking Medical Imaging equipment to Production. Our client is a Fabless Company working with both University and Commercial Fabs. This is an exciting opportunity and the successful candidate will work closely with our clients Fab Partners in the fabrication process of the emitters used in the companysinnovative X-ray products. Our client produces X-rays by firing electrons from tiny emitters across a high voltage into a target in a vacuum. You as the Semiconductor Process Engineer will play an active role in developing and optimising fabrication processes to support transfer fromR&D to high volume manufacturing. The CompanyMedical imaging helps patients by enabling early and accurate diagnosis. However, 2D X-rays can be inconclusive as they give a fundamentally limited view of our 3D bodies.3D images are possible with CT scanners but these are much more expensive, give a highdose of radiation and moving a critically ill patient to a scanner can be labour-intensive and risky. Our client is helping make 3D imaging more accessible to the people who need it by producing mobile, flat-panel X-ray systems that can be brought to patients giving low-cost, low-dose imaging.Candidate ProfileAs our ideal candidate you have proven success in developing semiconductor processes together with a minimum qualification of a degree in the Physical sciences or Engineering (or equivalent experience).Key ResponsibilitiesMain duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting device fabrication by working with external Fab Partners and internal Microfabrication Scientists to develop and execute Device Process Recipes
  • Driving continuous in-line Cpk improvement for Device at our foundry partners
  • Improving Device line yields through process modification and reducing reliance on sacrificial wafers
  • Improving product yields through defect reduction and process margin improvements
  • Supporting foundry Device process transfers from University Labs
  • Working with our foundries to help define NPI process phases and ensure our clients requirements are met according to schedule
  • Analysing processes, both for yield improvement and investigation of next-gen process modules
  • Early volume manufacturing - supporting volume manufacturing as the recipe stabilises
  • Adhering to company data management procedures, data analysis, and documenting and reporting of results under ISO 13485 Medical Device Regulatory Control Environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Highly proficient in semiconductor wafer fab processes
  • Working within a Fab environment
