Job Description

Rare, career-enhancing opportunity for a Security Services Engineer to join the dedicated SOC of this market-leading, global network security organisation. This is a fantastic chance for a talented individual to become part of the company’s sophisticated market-offering in the real-time mitigation of DDoS attacks. This is a remote-working opportunity, and we would welcome interest from candidates across the UK.As Security Services Engineer, you will join a global team providing incident response and analysis of customer data within a 24x7 Security Operation Center. You will have strong, demonstrable experience in the implementation and management of enterprise and/or commercial grade networks to support and develop existing infrastructure and high-capacity next generation DDoS prevention.Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and respond to security, installation, and network incidents generated via analysis or automated tools
  • Determine root cause and engage directly with customers to resolve issues in their environment
  • Research and analyse data sources to provide insight into new trends, threats, and detection methods, working in collaboration with colleagues across the globe to build an internal knowledge-based library
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of a range of issues pertaining to customer policies, controls, networks, and virtual environments
  • Ideally, you will have the following:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems and Networks (or equivalent)
  • 2-5 years’ experience working with systems and networks
  • Good knowledge and/or experience of Linux environments (essential)
  • JNCIA, CISSP, CISA, GIAC or relevant network-specific certifications
  • Exposure to Infrastructure design and management within mission-critical environments
  • Experience using Wireshark (or similar)
  • Experience using Splunk or other SIEMs
  • Knowledge of Network protocols (TCP/IP) and network troubleshooting (Desired)
  • In partnership with the required technical skillset, the successful individual must also demonstrate high levels of enthusiasm and determination to succeed. Strong communication and customer-facing skills are essential, as is the ability and willingness to challenge and innovate existing processes. Please note the working pattern for this role will be 6am - 3pm Monday to Friday, with voluntary on-call weekend shifts paid as overtime.Salary up to £45,000 (DOE) + training + benefits on offer in a truly collaborative team.
