Agile Working OptionsHybrid Working Job descriptionJob title: Risk Manager - Business Risk, Investment & ClimateSalary: £61,641 - £68,490 Location: Edinburgh or LeedsHours: Full timeWorking Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.About the role:Our Business Risk, Investments and Climate Team are looking to recruit a Risk Manager who will work as a trusted partner supporting Insurance, Division to deliver against collective priorities while enhancing the risk and control environment through specialistknowledge and capabilities.What youll be doing:

  • Supporting the Chief Operations Officer (AE) for the Operational Servicing areas including some B&TE Platform activity in updating and maintaining their risk and control profiles, ensuring current and emerging key risks are understood and mitigating actionsare in place and driven to completion.
  • Drive forward the Specialist Risk Assessment team, engaging with key partners, to review key business processes and their supporting controls, to verify that the controls in place support the mitigation of the risk and are operating as expected.
  • Shape, influence and embed a strong proactive risk management culture, based on thematic reviews and identification of areas of weakness in the risk landscape, driving forward control environment improvements to existing business practices.
  • Supports incident management and rectifications with current regulatory and compliance processes, systems, and procedures, taking action to solve immediate compliance issues and providing advice to more senior colleagues on more complex problems.
  • Produces accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting that data into standard formats e.g., Customer Control Forum, ERMs and Platform Risk Forum Packs.
  • Build relationships across the 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defence to identify, share and implement standard methodologies across the organisation.

  • You must be a confident leader, who clearly demonstrates drive, energy, dedication, and integrity, and with a track record of delivery.
  • Youll need to be an experienced Risk professional, with experience in Risk Management in a similarly complex, constantly evolving, regulated environment.
  • Strong operational and change experience gained from working within a financial services organisation.
  • Experience in making use of available data to make good decisions, and providing subjective insightful views backed by appropriate data in simple ways, is also crucial.
  • Knowledge and experience of the operational and regulatory complexities impacting the business, from strategic, operational and change perspectives.
