Job Description

Residential Care Officer - Criminal Justice Services Location: EdinburghSalary: £14.05p/h plus sleepover allowance4-month Contract initially, Full time, 36 hours minimum per weekThe Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting for a Residential Care Officer -Criminal Justice Services based in Edinburgh. The role involves working in a High Risk Offender Service that provides support, monitoring and supervision to HighRisk Violent and Sexual Offenders. The service is a monitored and supported living for male offenders in a criminal justice supported accommodation. The home includes additional staff accommodation interviewing rooms and training space. Candidates will beexpected to work shifts, including nights and weekends.Key responsibilities:

  • General hostel duties such as Health & Safety checks and reporting faults to appropriate agencies.
  • Support service users to enhance their daily living skills.
  • Monitor, challenge service users who display concerning behaviours.
  • Report concerns to appropriate people (SSW, Management and colleagues).
  • Make regular entries on swift data base.
  • Attend multi agency meetings.
  • Key work service users.
  • Work in a Team setting.
  • Carry out risk / needs assessments.
  • Provide reports for multi-agency meetings.
  • Work to Care Commission through care standards.
  • Liaise with other appropriate agencies.
Qualifications and experience:
  • Candidates must have HNC/SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Candidates need to be able to compile various types of reports to a high standard.
  • Must have basic IT skills, good written and verbal communication skills.
  • It is essential to have experience working with service users who display challenging / offending behaviours.
