Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Research Support Officers for 23 month contracts on a rate of £18.22/hour PAYE. These roles will be hybrid working.Responsibilities:- Conduct secondary research activities including reviews of existing published articles, databases and records to support the organisation’s work across four investigative portfolios.- Support the research manager to plan and execute a series of evidence-based reports, summaries and recommendations to policy colleagues and senior members of the organisation.- Build and maintain relationships with senior staff and other members of the organisation to respond to research requests and needs.- Support the research manager to conduct primary research activities, employing qualitative and quantitative approaches to support ongoing analysis within organisational investigations- Support members of the wider organisation with research and analysis activitiesEssential Skills:- Knowledge and experience of applying a range of social research methods to address research questions.- The ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) on complex issues. - The ability to critically evaluate data and other research evidence with accuracy and perception to meet the needs of research users.- Experience of planning, reviewing and prioritising work and resources to deliver results.- Candidates should hold an Honours degree in a relevant social science, or political science where a thesis has been undertaken.
