The South East Scotland Cancer Research Network supports the provision of cancer clinical trials in a geographic area comprising the Health Board areas of NHS Lothian, NHS Fife, NHS Borders and NHS Dumfries and Galloway.We are now seeking to employ a full time Clinical Trials Data Manager for two years.This post will provide support for team 1 covering tumour sites in Phase I trials, Gynaecological, Colorectal, Upper Gastrointestinal, and Melanoma in cancer clinical trials. The post-holder will work alongside medical and nursing colleagues to facilitate the collection of high quality data in a number of trials to ensure that protocol requirements and recognised standards (such as ICH GCP) are met. The post-holder will be responsible for recording clinical data in case report forms (both paper and electronic) and liaising closely with trial sponsors and co-ordinating centres to ensure that all aspects of these trials meet regulatory guidelines.Educated to degree level or with relevant experience, you should have strong analytical and reporting skills and be able to focus on detail. It would be preferable if you have experience of the data management of clinical trials. Strong inter-personal and communication skills are essential for the development of professional relationships with medical, nursing, pharmacy and other staff groups involved in the support of clinical trials, and you must be able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing work environment.Informal discussions or visits are recommended and if you would like to discuss the post in more detail, please contact Jim MacPherson onor
