Reputational Risk Oversight Manager (Brand, Marketing & Communication):The Reputational Risk Oversight Manager (Brand, Marketing & Corporate Affairs) will play an important role in shaping the design of a robust education and behaviour change programme to help increase capacity and embed understanding of the Brand Governance,Social Media Risk and Reputational Risk policy. While empowering employees to make risk assessments for all decisions and actions they take on behalf of the business. Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Build positive and engaging relationships with a range of stakeholder groups.
  • Create an effective process for providing oversight and assurance of 1LoD activity in the identification, management and reporting on Brand & Digital Communication risk across M&G Plc.
  • Embed the risk management framework across the business through effective policy and education programmes
  • Provide an internal advisory support service to support the business in assessing Brand, Marketing & Digital Communications risk
  • Undertake thematic reviews and deep dives on areas that could impact negatively on the risk profile of M&G plc
  • Provide specialist risk opinions on Digital Communications Risk
  • Support in oversight of incident response and capture key learning to build resilience for the future
  • Support the Head of Reputational Risk in reporting on Digital Communications risk to include - in a variety of formats - dashboards, reports and presentations
  • Contribute as required to industry forums and project working groups on key areas of risk such E.g. Social Media Risk and Fake Website forums.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Essential
  • Extensive experience working in a reputation management related field (with at least 3 linked to digital) or other relevant experience
  • Experience of embedding Brand & Marketing Governance & Communications (and/or Social Media) policy
  • Ability to assess the alignment of communications approaches to brand strategy
  • Ability to consult with a variety of key stakeholder groups
  • Effective use of Q&A to fact find and uncover blind spots
  • Proven experience of working in a complex multi channel/ multi location business
  • Experience of applying regulatory requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
  • Understanding of risk management principles and how they apply practically to the brand, marketing and communications environment
  • Proven track record in managing and/or advising on Digital Communications
  • Basic understanding of key compliance & legislative requirements around financial promotion, data, social media, privacy, security and communication standards
  • Experience of communication compliance tools e.g. Hootsuite, Proofpoint
  • Experience of risk management tools e.g. MetricStream
  • Experience of listening and monitoring tools
  • Experience of communications crisis and/or reputation management
  • Working knowledge of the development of key risk indicators
  • Experience of providing risk guidance and developing policy/position statements
  • Understanding of the wider business, economic, regulatory and market environment in which M&G plc operates
  • Experience of writing board/committee papers
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification
  • Professional Membership body and proactive engagement will be considered favourably
