Job Description

THE ROLEWe are recruiting for a Regulatory Finance Reporting Manager within the regulatory finance team based in Horley, reporting to the Regulatory Finance Manager. The role is responsible for the management and collation of high-quality data and the subsequentmonitoring, assessment and reporting of data for the regulatory reporting process, regulatory outputs and uncertainty mechanism submissions. Engagement both internally and externally will be required to ensure the consistency and accuracy of data reported.We are looking for a self-motivated and inquisitive individual who is able to provide comprehensive understanding, provide challenge and commitment to ensure that the data reported is of a high quality and accurate. The individual will be proactive, takeresponsibility for the delivery of key submissions, to defined deadlines, and be able to set their own goals to deliver their objectives.Key responsibilities will include;

  • Being a primary point of engagement with the regulator for the regulatory reporting pack (RRP) and be able to communicate SGNs position clearly and in a convincing way on key topics.
  • Understanding the regulatory reporting requirements and resolving any queries around the correct treatment of financial data within the RRP.
  • To provide insight and analysis regarding performance against regulatory targets, the submission of the annual regulatory reports to Ofgem and the comparison of annual reports across other networks.
  • Complete data quality and data process checks to have confidence on the quality of data input that is being reported within the Regulatory Reporting and to provide confidence to senior management.
  • Managing the submission of regulatory financial information to Ofgem, this will primarily cover the RRP however support will also be required for Reopeners, the PCFM (Price Control Financial Model) and other regulatory submissions.

  • The ability to communicate complex financial and regulatory reporting information to senior management who may not have the background in financial reporting and provide confidence in the quality
  • Understanding and challenging, where appropriate, regulatory reporting principles and how they align to financial account and management accounting principles
  • To build a detailed understanding of SGN business operations and a determination to have clear explanations of why variances may arise, or differences may be generated
  • A strong attention to detail that challenges data provided and supports the accurate provision of data for reporting purposes, that identifies potential risks in data provision and misalignment with reporting
  • The ability to work with the wider business to identify areas of potential poor-quality data and determine resolutions
  • The ability to manage a process and take responsibility for its final delivery
  • Strong time management skills and prioritisation
  • Ability to focus and to reprioritise requirements as new information comes forward
