Working in a cross-disciplinary team Quality Engineers will use a variety of techniquesto plan then design and execute test cases across one or more types of testing (FT/NFT/BAT). Understands the importance of testing and the Quality Framework within LBG and advocates these to other change disciplines. Awareness of the test automation frameworkand coding standards deployed withing the team. Attends Communities of Practice & Guilds and shares learning to members of their team. Participates in improvement working groups. We care about your mental health and want to enable a good work-life balanceWhich area of Lloyds does this role sit withinA great opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer in Test to join our Risk Value Stream where you will be responsible for driving quality throughout the change lifecycle and undertaking testing of software changes to deliver products that are fit forpurpose to meet the quality standards our customers expect of us. The Risk Value Stream (RVS) supports the Risk Division by delivering Risk Transformation across five pillars and 20 initiatives.As we follow the Agile Project Methodology, our initiatives are typically led by Product Owners (PO) and Engineering Leads (EL), who work with their Scrum Masters (SM), Business and Data Analysts (BA/DA) and various Engineering colleagues to deliver ouragreed outcomes.Our team in Risk Value Stream is passionate about creating new services for our customers that transform the customer and colleague experience.   • Continuously contribute to the development of Risk Value Streams strategy in line with the evolution of new technologies and tooling!
  • Write automated test scripts against user stories and maintain test traceability
  • Refine user story acceptance criteria using Behaviour Driven Development methods (BDD) and identifying testing needs
  • Identify defects and work with the feature team to prevent defect leakage. Helping to gather lessons learnt to prevent similar issues in the future.
  • Work collaboratively with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Architects and Designers as a part of the Team!
  • Be open to new thought processes and change mind set. Bringing in new ways of working and creative ways of embedding and delivering Quality.
  • Develop personal capabilities using formal and informal training opportunities
  • Support others within the Software Engineering in Test Chapter and the wider team and ensuring the appropriate development plans are in place to help drive the overall capability of the team forward
  • Ensuring your area of responsibility is aligned with overall test strategies and transformation, pushing boundaries and seeking opportunities to improve
What were looking for from you
  • Prior experience working as a Software Engineer in Test who is interested in focusing on Test automation, or a background within specifically automation testing and the desired coding skills
  • Definition of positive, negative and boundary test cases for functional, non-functional and regression testing
  • Strong SQL experience and ability to understand and query databases effectively, microservices and API testing
  • Configuration and support of test automation tools such as Selenium, UFT, POSTMAN, SoapUI, WebDriver IO, Sauce Labs, BDD, Cucumber, LoadRunner, Jmeter
  • Test definition and execution through Jira X-Ray
  • Adopting an automation first approach with a passion for driving efficiency and a focus on reducing risk within teams
  • Experience working within a DevOps & Agile working environment. (Docker, Kubernetes or experience working in any cloud platform would be beneficial)
  • Experience using CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and faster feedback
  • Good understanding of non-functional testing practices and approachesPerformance testing, SAST, DAST, OAT and Usability (accessibility & compatibility)
  • Good people skills and the ability to work in an effective, passionate & fun multi-functional team
