Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Portfolio Programme Manager for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £333/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remotebased for the duration of the contract.Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of projects either directly as a Project Manager and/or as Manager of Project Managers and project teams delivering strategic projects as part of the organisations business modernisation programme. - Providing internal consultancy on project management and facilitate delivery of continuous and quality improvement techniques across the organisation.- To deliver the strategic direction for the organisation by influencing stakeholders and leading the definition, development and implementation of major projects delivering that mission.- Influence national strategies and modernisation initiatives and identify synergistic opportunities, which drive best value for the organisation.- Work with strategic project stakeholders to successfully drive and manage substantial change projects through a world-class project management framework to deliver outcomes to the required level of quality, on time and within budget.Essential Skills:- Educated to degree level with a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area of knowledge- Working with Programme/project Managers using business change principals, proven experience of project or programme management within a wider overarching portfolio. - Experience of co-ordinating all Programme Phases including Initiation, Design, Implementation, Transition and Support.- Promotion of the programme visions through presentation and other forms of communication to staff at all levels of the business.- Preparing the affected business areas for the transition to new ways of working and implementing new business processes where necessary- Experience of working within a matrix management function across programme, project and/or service management specialists and support staff.- Excellent communication and negotiation/influencing skills as complex and sensitive negotiation, sometimes in emotive and hostile atmospheres, can be required.
