Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Procurement specialist for an initial 3-month contract, with possible 6 month extension on a rate of £250-£300/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.Responsibilities:·Leading the end-to-end procurement process mainly utilising existing framework agreements and varying procurement projects in accordance with the organisations policies and processes. Through effective stakeholder engagement and market / options assessment, they will undertake competitions for specific goods and / or services, with contracts awarded based on the Most Economically Advantageous Tender and vary contracts as required. ·Ensuring that a robust specification is produced in collaboration with the technical team, advertising the contract, answering supplier queries, facilitating the evaluation process and producing the contract documentation.·Organise and collate robust information from a variety of sources to support decision making in procurement, with an emphasis on benefits and best practice. They will use all evidence gained to assess, measure and evaluate projects, engaging with colleagues at appropriate stages. ·Facilitate continuous improvement and contribute to procurement best practice. ·Promote and support use of existing tools and techniques for project management and contribute to new initiatives in relation to risk management, prioritisation and performance monitoring.Essential Skills & Experience:·Extensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of the end-to-end procurement process with an understanding of public procurement and EU procurement legislation.·Experience in strategic procurement techniques, supplier management and negotiation will be essential as will knowledge and experience of using Framework Agreements; and·Effective leadership and stakeholder management skills·Demonstrate strong time and task management, with an ability to make progress on several activities and projects concurrently. Demonstrate strong attention to detail yet providing pragmatic solutions for consideration within sourcing strategies.·Effective team workingDesirable Skills & Experience:·Understanding of the challenges and complexities of procurement in the Scottish Public Sector·Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. ·Working knowledge of Public Contracts Scotland (PCS)If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, please get in touch.
