Job Description

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Process Consultant to work with our Public Sector client until mid to end May 2021 with an option to extend for an additional four week period.Based in Glasgow or Edinburgh (home working due to current restrictions)Day rate £350- £400 Inside IR35Umbrella- 37 hours, Monday to FridayContract with potential extensionKey skills & experience:

  • The JD focuses on Scottish fish exports to the EU from sea to stomach. The fish go through four or five different processes - for example at Peterhead port, at Larkhall, at Dover, at Calais, at Boulogne.
  • Ideally looking to recommend solutions to streamline the process so that information provided at one stage will facilitate processing later, and move as much online as possible.
  • The job of the consultant is to review various bits of existing work - Foods Standards Scotland, Defra and others have information - and pull them together into a process map.
  • Identify gaps in our knowledge and recommend opportunities to streamline systems.
  • An initial report should be produced by end April with some quick wins and recommendations for further work.
  • G6/7 civil service equivalent could do this work with supervision from within OSSS.

    • Desirable:Previous Civil Service experience, some knowledge of the fish industry or export processes, working in areas of ambiguity, with no clear solutions and differing opinionsSecurity clearanceIssued a valid Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate within 12 months in order to apply for an additional security clearance before you can start in a role.BPSS as minimum , but National Security Vetting a distinct advantage either CTC,SC or DVPlease apply with your updated CV highlighting your key experience for the role.
