Change Digital Recruitment are recruiting a Principal Software Engineer - Mobile on behalf of a nationally recognised financial services company. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland this company provide a broad range of financial products to consumers ranging fromsavings accounts through to loans and home insurance. As part of their development and future growth plans, they are very keen to add specialist talent and skills to the organisation as they further enhance their offering to their customers across the UK. This important role is responsible for leading all mobile (android/iOS/java) software engineers to ensure that all development, maintenance, operation and support is completed to the highest level of engineering excellence for all mobile customer facing services.Key responsibilities will include You will co-ordinate all activity within your practise, devise and implement complex mobile app solutions and technical architectures You will define, promote and collaborate on mobile centred engineering standards and patterns for your practise You will act as a domain level subject matter expert on the mobile platform architecture with all product teams As principal engineer, the practise team will look to you to set the direction, strategy, build the practise and drive through service improvement plans, features and change youd like to see on the technical architecture You will work closely with the head of engineering on our longer-term, strategic business and technology goals for the organisationExperience and skills required Previous experience of working in a software engineering/technical leadership role within the mobile domain Previous experience of software engineering for Android, iOS and Java Working knowledge and understanding of one of the following FastLane, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python, and BashStrong leadership skills with the ability to set the strategic direction of the mobile engineering function and establish and maintain high standards
