At Cyan we deliver new technology to help law enforcement, social media and cloud companies block and find harmful content from paedophiles and terrorists. Our forensics tool for law enforcement is actually up to 100 times quicker than traditional methods andwe were described by the UK Government as offering "game-changing" tech. This year were launching new products, continuing to expand internationally and working hard to raise our profile in a significant way. At Cyan we work hard to make a difference and fast. We really believe in what we do and the difference we can make; we also know where we want to beand by when, and everyone plays their own unique role to get us there.The RoleWere looking for a highly experienced business to business PR & Communications Manager to work within our Marketing Team to develop and implement an ambitious UK and North America eminence strategy.We want to stand out. Were looking for someone who can communicate externally how Cyan adds value to the world, and raise the profile of our capability to operate in and provide insight into the highest level of our wider landscape. Cyans global reputationneeds to evolve to the next level. Can you use your expertise to position us as real experts and visionaries in our field Can you draw on the extensive multifaceted expertise within Cyan, wider Cyan and friends of Cyan Can you help make new connections for us in order to do this Creating visibility of Cyan as a credible thought leader is key. We already operate and influence at the highest level within governments, policy makers and high profile charitable bodies. Can you achieve this by maximizing the owned channels for which youwill have end-to-end responsibility (blog, podcast, social), focusing on earned media (newspapers, specialist magazines and trade publications) and leveraging the reach of our partners/friends of CyanWith regard to what were communicating. Are you an expert at talking about complex subjects to audiences that really know their stuff Can you deep dive and ask the right questions of those in the know Were looking for someone who regularly operates at national media level, is comfortable creating complex, but well written thought leadership pieces, and who can create a story hook where there isnt one readily available. Youll work closely with our CEO,have access to lots of people within Cyan and external collaborators who know their stuff and have something to say, you just have to know how to extract their brilliance, have a creative mind that can weave the story, and the tenacity and drive to make ithappen. The ability to write is also key. Its actually fundamental. Are you confident this is one of your strengths Your strategy must talk to law enforcement at various levels (influencers and end users of our product), government, investors, future employees, charities, and NGOs in the UK, the USA and Canada. Although it would be nice if youve worked with these before,its not essential. Whats essential is national media experience, and ideally international too.Policy influencer experience and experience of generating white papers would also be an attractive bonus. Person SpecificationYou must be able to communicate and process great people skills. We pride ourselves on having great working relationships between colleagues and on collaborative working. That said, self-starters need only apply. This is also a positive working environmentin a company that has a strong mission and company culture. You must be a bit of problem solver, someone who can think laterally to find a solution, and strong organisational and time-management abilities are essential. Although were a small company, were on the fast track to expansion and growth, so you must be ableto work well under pressure when required and have a strong sense of commercial awareness, and the ability to think big. When its possible, you may be asked to travel occasionally with this role.
