Job Description

PLOT SALES PARALEGAL IntroductionPinsent Masons isan innovative and enterprising commercial law firm.We provide clients with the expertise and knowledge of over 2,500 staff in 21 international locations.BriefWe are currently looking to recruit a conveyancing paralegal into our Edinburgh Property Team.We are ideally looking to recruit a candidate who has experience in this area.BackgroundWorking alongside the Land Sales Partner this role includes supporting lawyers in the administration and co-ordination of files relating to plot sales for large residential developers.The team handles contracts and conveyancing of plot sales on housing development sites for developers operating across Scotland on sites of all sizes and degrees of complexity.Key Elements of the Role

  • Dealing with clients sales teams/reservationsreceiving reservation forms, checking details with clients, issuing offers, negotiating missives.
  • Taking client instructions on any qualifications raised that are not of a legal nature
  • Sending out title deeds and NHBC Documentation, preparation of sellers drafts and answering title observations
  • Identifying problem missives and settlements and targeting for progress updates
  • Issuing formal letters and concluding missives
  • Sending out statements preparing cash entries, receiving funds at settlement and settling transactions.
  • Completion of sales
  • Post completion work (sending funds to clients, sending out settlement documentation to purchasers agents requesting fee notes etc)
  • Liaising with clients sales teams on a regular basis, updating progress on site sales; completion of regular reports and reporting tools
  • Shared equity transactions
  • Part-exchange transactions
  • Purchasesexamining title, revising sellers drafts, preparing purchasers drafts, dealing with settlement and SDLT Return.
  • Salestaking instructions on offer, negotiating and concluding missives, preparing drafts obtaining relevant Searches and Reports, settling transactions.
The Candidate RequiredThe successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in a similar paralegal role. They will be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. They will display a can do attitude and an ability to deliver excellent serviceto clients.
