Job Description

Plot Sales Conveyancer£35,000EdinburghOur client, a law firm based in Edinburgh, is seeking a Plot Conveyancer to join their team.You will collaborate closely with our lawyers in the specialist residential development, strategic land, planning, and construction teams to unlock the full potential of your development site.Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting all legal documents necessary for a development site, preparing a bank of precedent legal documents in advance of plot sales.
  • Handling plot sale paperwork from reservation to settlement, which involves drafting sales offers, negotiating missives, completing financial tasks and documentation, managing settlement procedures, addressing observations on title, and overseeing registrationprocedures.
  • Managing the purchase and re-sale of part exchange properties, including examining part exchange titles.
  • Providing client reports and attending client meetings.
  • Procuring conveyancing searches and managing incoming phone calls and post.
  • Utilizing BigHand dictation and checking work produced.
  • Initiating and closing files, including managing account balances.
  • Proficiency in using plots case management system, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and BigHand.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience as a Conveyancer or in Plot Sales preferred.
  • Ability to manage own caseload independently, especially in the absence of administrative support.
  • Proficiency in IT and adherence to the firms IT policy.
  • Capability to provide mentoring to other staff when required.
