Job Description

My client is currently to recruit an experienced Planning Officer to join their site on the outskirts of Edinburgh (commutable from all areas of West Lothian, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Stirling, Falkirk and areas of Fife).You will be working with a successful manufacturer that has recently experienced an impressive investment and upturn in sales.The company are well established, financially stable and have earned a reputation as an excellent employer. Their culture is results-driven with a strong focus on continuous improvement. This role will help support the companys future development.Sitting within the Planning and Procurement Department, the Planning officer will possess the following responsibilities:

  • Assisting on site planning and coordination of line allocation and demands
  • Controlling of work schedules and material allocations
  • Managing incoming goods delivery and Line Kanban set ups
  • Manage stocks and stock rotations within the production arena
  • Assisting in the building and structuring of bill of materials
  • Develop, evolve and improve the existing product portfolio with regards to processing and yields
  • Review raw material supplies, aiming to provide cost savings
Your experience:
  • Knowledge of MRP systems (such as sage and SAP)
  • Knowledge of planning and utilisation controls
  • Knowledge of material flow and Kanban systems
  • Proven experience in a progressive, high volume manufacturing environment
  • Microsoft Office skills (including powerpoint)
  • Experience in the delivery of projects to specified deadlines
  • Certified Forklift Driver
