Parts AdvisorLocation: Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 8LBSalary: Very competitive salary, DOEContract: Full Time, PermanentHours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (normal ph rate) 1/ 2 Saturdays per month 8am to 12.30pm (time and a half)Benefits: Company Pension, 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays, Employee discount schemeWe are Pentland Component Parts Ltd and we are recruiting!We are a leading company in the Lothian automotive aftermarket and we have an exciting career opportunity for a Parts Advisor based at our Leith branch, north of Edinburgh city!We are looking for a friendly and outgoing Parts Advisor with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, who will contribute towards sales growth at the branch by developing sound customer relationships and applying effective salestechniques.As a Parts Advisor you will be proactive and positive towards branch and company promotions and initiatives; always mindful of the companys mission to deliver the best service and quality to customers.Parts Advisor - The role:This is a branch-based role where you will spend the majority of your working time serving customers over the phone or face to face over the counter.Your main branch will be Leith but you will be required to fill in at other branches from time to time to cover holidays and sickness etc. Reporting to your Line Manager at the branch you are based, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensuring that all customers receive the best all round service by telephone or in person, over the counter. Answering calls coming into the branch in a friendly and efficient manner. Looking up parts using electronic catalogues, websites and occasionally paper catalogues. Advising customers what parts they might need for their vehicle, including add-on sales. Checking availability of parts on computer stock records. Booking out orders on the computer system correctly but as quickly as possible with due regard to the customers level of urgency and van schedules. Learning about new product groups and new brands as they become relevant. Ordering from suppliers when necessary. Cash handling and dealing with spot and account payments. Maintaining shop displays as required. Putting stock away. Liaising with other departments and other branches to ensure transactions and processes are completed correctly. Growing sales by profitable means keeping within the limits of an acceptable branch margin. Dealing with customer problems and queries. Reporting any serious or unresolved problems to your Line Manager or to a Company Director. Communicating effectively with customers and colleagues. Assisting colleagues where required. Maintaining a can-do, positive attitude. Providing any other assistance needed to ensure the smooth running of the branch.Parts Advisor - What we need from you:The ideal candidate will have experience in motor trade parts telesales and / or customer service, ideally gained in a fast-paced sales-driven environment.In addition to this you will: Knowledge of car parts, MAM cataloguing and main dealer EPCs Be able to work well and deliver results under pressure. Be organised with great attention to detail. Be customer focussed. Be dynamic, outgoing and energetic. Be driven, motivated by sales and able to deal with rejection. Show a willingness to learn and develop. Be a team player with the ability to also work independently. Display excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
