The legal department plays a pivotal role in supporting the core business of the firm, doing so in a variety of ways: through advice, innovation, problem solving and the management of material legal risk. The department covers work in all geographies, gaining exposure to a variety of jurisdictional, regulatory and fund related work; and supporting colleagues across the group and its office locations.Purpose of RoleThe Legal Support Unit is made up of Accredited Paralegals and Paralegals. The team are responsible for a broad range of legal work and delivering legal services across the Legal Department and to support the core business of the firm to the high standard expected. The Legal Department is diverse and covers a wide range of geographies and subject matters such as work relating to commercial contracts, segregated account activities, private companies, pooled and mutual funds, derivatives, distribution, registration and project work. The successful candidate for this role will have a real interest in process improvement and legal technology. The role involves providing support to the Global Contracts & IMAs team by providing: contract review assistance; legal drafting of Supplementary IMAs and NDAs; idea generation; and technical support, the latter with an active focus on improving current, and creating new, processes for the team through the utilisation of various technology platforms such as SharePoint, Power Apps and Flows and Tableau.
