Job Description

Location: Edinburgh (flexible across Scotland region)Salary: £29.8k - £36.7k (dependent on skills & qualifications)Reference: REQ2093THE ROLEWe have an exciting vacancy for a Network Support Assistant within the Network Planning Team based in our Edinburgh office.Reporting to the Network Support Officer, the role in question will include the following primary responsibilities:Key responsibilities will include;

  • Maintaining a current and thorough knowledge of the Distribution supply system
  • Ensuring the accuracy of SGNs Network Analysis computer models
  • Supporting development of the supply system in a safe and efficient manner
  • Determining the optimum method of network operation consistent with minimising costs and maintaining statutory obligations.
  • Developing optimum mains replacement designs, taking account of factors such as cost, deliverability and interaction with other activities / business drivers
  • Developing reinforcement designs in support of new connections, taking account of factors such as cost, deliverability and interaction with other activities / business drivers
  • Developing a detailed understanding of Leakage and Environmental Emissions Incentive
  • Providing an efficient and effective service to operational departments.
