Job Description

MQ Project AnalystHybrid working pattern.Financial ServicesLoriens Banking client are currently looking for a MQ Project Analyst to join the expanding team on a permanent basis.This is an opportunity for an experienced MQ Project Analyst to design and build MQ systems to support the many applications using these systems. Provide knowledgeable advice and support, utilising both technical and non-technical language to stakeholders.Working within the Middleware MQ Project team in a large complex support environment, you will be providing occasional on call and out of hours support.This is an opportunity to learn a variety of new skills in a constantly evolving environment, working closely with feature teams to continuously enhance your development.What Youll DoAs an MQ Project Analyst, youll be supporting the teams activities to make sure that the platform integrity is maintained in line with technical roadmaps, while supporting change demands from domains or centres of excellence. Youll be contributing toand supporting the delivery of a robust production management service for relevant infrastructure platforms.In addition, youll be contributing to the delivery of customer outcomes, innovation and early learning by contributing to test products and services to identify early on if they are viable and deliver the desired outcomes.Youll responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining our MQ systems to customer requirements
  • Supporting our application teams with testing and resolving issues
  • Integrating our MQ systems with other software and linking them to external customers and partners
  • Participating and seeking out opportunities to simplify the platform infrastructure, architecture, services, and customer solutions, guarding against introducing new complexity
  • Building relationships with platform, domain, and relevant cross-domain stakeholders
  • Making sure that controls are applied and constantly reviewed, primarily against SOX, to ensure full compliance to all our policies and regulatory obligations
The skills youll needTo succeed in this role, youll need to be a very capable communicator with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, including management level. Youll need a solid background working in an Agile or DevOps environmentwith continuous delivery and continuous integration.Well also look for you to demonstrate:
  • Technical knowledge, including platform and tools
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standard toolsets and processes to drive up customer service within an IT environment
  • Strong experience of configuration, maintenance, and delivery of MQ infrastructure on Z/os, Unix and Solaris as well as experience of MQ design and build, MQ clustering, shared queues, pub/sub and AMS.
  • Experience of working with third party vendors, SSL certificates.
  • IIB running on RedHat Linux, and Solaris is desirable
  • Proven success in delivery of high-quality, cost-effective infrastructure services in a large, complex, high availability environment
  • Experience in a cohesive and collaborative approach with wide range of technical and non-technical staff. And an ability to communicate well, both verbally and written in technical and non-technical environments
  • Proven track record of problem determination and problem-solving skills
