Job Description

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Edinburgh, To £34,854 inclusive of shift premium.Washbrook Consultants have been appointed to resource for an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a client near Edinburgh.Working for a global player, your main area of responsibility will be;

  • Responding to unplanned repairs and breakdowns
  • Monitoring, fault diagnosing and repair of equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Undertaking preventative maintenance tasks on manufacturing & facility equipment.
  • Assisting in the planning of scheduled maintenance
  • Assisting in creation and modifying of maintenance procedures
  • Managing stocks of spare parts
  • Controlling and maintaining tooling to allow efficient maintenance function
  • Upkeep of records and technical information relating all maintenance activities
  • Assisting in the study and modification of equipment to improve performance and efficiency
  • Installing & Commissioning new equipment
  • Maintaining safe and clean working environment
    • Qualifications Required:
  • Must be time served and industry qualified in mechanical engineering - eg City & Guilds/HNC or equivalent
    • Skills Needed:
  • Competent in all areas of mechanical engineering with the addition and a sound electrical knowledge to allow the safe completion of maintenance tasks
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing processes
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good basic IT competence
  • Knowledge of factory Health and Safety and environmental regulations
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
    • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience of printing or book binding production equipment.This role is commutable from Edinburgh, Leith, Musselburgh, Tranent, Dunbar, Dalkeith, Haddington, Melrose. Required skills
