The Role: Copywriter/ Marketing ManagerWere looking for a creative, self-driven and innovative Copywriter/Marketing Manager who can think on their feet, to join the UK Customer Marketing team. At M&G our focus is on ensuring positive customer outcomes (financial and customer experience) and keeping our customers at the heart of everything we do. So we have a responsibility to ensure this ethos flows through all our direct customer touchpoints. Thisis now more important than ever given the introduction of the Consumer Duty directive from the FCA in 2023. As part of the UK Customer Marketing Team, you will focus on the development of ensuring we have excellent content available for use on-site and in-campaigns to support the promotion of Financial Advice, SIPP, ISA, JISA & GIA products and to support, engageand retain our existing pension and bond customers. This role is based at our Reading office but frequent travel in to London may be required for team collaboration (expenses will be paid for this) Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Create and deliver innovative D2C content across the marketing mix to support our customers
  • Preparation of activity proposals and plans to identify and manage deliverables, targets/metrics, budgets, within timescales, as well as ROI measurement criteria to support project objectives
  • Analyse and assess content gaps to support our marketing plans and SEO
  • Ensure that all marketing activities comply with the regulatory, Conduct Risk (Customer at Heart) and Treating Customers Fairly requirements of FCA
  • Marketing asset management
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Relevant experience gained in financial services marketing, customer Marketing (D2C)
  • A good understanding of the nuances of investing products and services and associated customer needs
  • Ability to interpret multiple data sources (e.g. research papers, SEO results, social listening audits etc) to identify angles for articles relevant to a customer-facing audience
  • Excellent understanding of content and design approaches including message hierarchy, tone of voice, content flow and working to brand guidelines, being creatively critical with exceptional attention to detail both on and offline
  • Successful track record in developing marketing campaigns and support from idea creation, development and delivery, and KPI measurement, always with the relevant customer lens
  • Experience in content creation financial promotion and non-financial promotion
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast changing and pressured environment
  • Ability to write good, clear, modern and grammatically correct English and to be able to flex styles dependent on audience
  • Knowledge and experience of Aprimo system, or other marketing digital asset management systems, would be beneficial
  • Ability to write copy pitches for Agencies and manage the article development process with them
  • Stakeholder management
  • Experience of working with generative AI to support content creation would be an advantage
