Job Description

Management Accountant/ModelerLocation: Edinburgh City CentreSalary: £30,916 - £33,619An exciting opportunity to join the Finance team as a management accountant and modeler in one of Europe’s leading hubs of art, history and culture has arisen. Working directly with the Head of Finance you will play a key part in designing and modelling their management accounts. This will allow managers to better understand the financial and performance impact of their decisions, as well as help plan for the organisation’s future.The ideal candidate will be part or newly qualified CCAB/CIMA or AAT qualified with significant management accounting experience. For this role, personality is just as important as your ability in finance. You will work with a wide variety of people and departments and must be a very effective communicator with experience in stakeholder manager.What will you be doing

  • Assist in budget setting, forecasting and provision of financial information, including capital projects and externally funded projects
  • Provide financial information and advice needed to enable managers to understand and control the financial implications of their activities
  • Assist in the development of financial reports and models to support the needs of business information requirements
  • Identify risks to delivery of financial or performance management objectives
  • Promote good procurement practice through analytical work on expenditure patterns and providing advice to managers on applying procurement policy & procedure
  • To support Managers to develop well considered, accurately costed and concisely expressed funding proposals and business cases
  • To be responsible for practicing good data protection and information security management in accordance with relevant NMS policies, procedures and guidelines
  • To be committed to good health & safety and access practice and ensure familiarity with the organisation’s health & safety and access policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Identify in advance financial management issues and opportunities through effective planning, profiled budgeting and timely forecasting
  • Effective operational planning and use of KPIs in support of delivering strategic priorities
  • Increase proportion of projects delivered on time, on specification and on budget, leading to an increased volume of self-generated income
  • Increased confidence and competence in financial management and procurement throughout the organization
  • Assisting in applications for funding both from government bodies and private funds
