Search Accountancy and Finance are pleased to partner a leading professional services firm in Edinburgh with the recruitment of a Management Accountant. Reporting into the Finance Director, this role will play a pivotal part in an established finance team.The role is well suited to individuals looking to move from practice into industry, as well as those already in industry looking for a new opportunity.Responsibilities:* Lead the preparation and evaluation of monthly management accounts and accompanying commentary to accurately depict business performance, adhering to specified deadlines.* Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of year-end accounts, maintaining effective communication with auditors throughout the process.* Conduct detailed financial analysis, encompassing KPI assessments at firm, group, team, and individual levels.* Generate net profitability reports at group, team, and client/matter levels.* Develop and maintain regular cashflow and profit and loss forecasting.* Create annual budgets and projected cashflows within established timelines, with ongoing monitoring and reporting.* Ensure precise preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory requirements, such as quarterly VAT returns, government statistical returns, P11D submissions, and PAYE settlement agreement returns.* Review and approve monthly payroll processes.* Complete all tax analysis work, prepare tax computations, and review the firms tax return submission.* Manage the accurate preparation of performance review financial information.* Oversee banking operational setup requirements, including bank mandate management, business credit card management, and firm business profile submissions.* Lead the completion of annual insurance policy renewals.* Provide company secretarial services for all in-house companies within the group.* Offer guidance and training in cashroom, billing, and time recording within the finance team and the firm.* Manage and provide training on the firms financial dashboard.Key Qualifications:* Qualified accountant with ICAS/CIMA/ACCA or QBE with strong SME experience.* Highly organised, capable of working independently, and skilled in prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines.* Comfortable functioning within a developed finance team, contributing to the growth of an ambitious SME business.* Flexible, positive, and self-motivated, with a proactive approach to tasks.* Meticulous attention to detail, consistently delivering accurate, reliable, and timely outputs.* Adaptability to learn new systems, develop and implement procedures, and propose solutions for challenges.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a customer-focused approach.Salary will be within a range of £40,000 - £50,000 plus benefits.Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
