Youll deliver customer driven solutions whilst reducing risk by implementing the right levelof engineering change through Agile development and testing. Delivery driving speed to market to the highest quality.Our Platform Lab Software Engineers build and improve our development practices, leading by example as we deliver improvements to our systems and development approaches.Youll balance the use of hands-on engineering expertise and working collaboratively with the wider engineering community.Specific activities include:Using the Scrum methodology and activities include shaping stories as well as software engineeringWorking with colleagues and stakeholders to understand the solution choicesSupport, develop and analyse a range of complex systems, delivering project driven change in a pragmatic way, building trust in the quality of the product.Working within a large bank means we must focus on managing risk to our customers through championing modern engineering and testing approachesWhat we need to see from you:5 years + experience within a modern software engineering team analysing, designing and building solutions using a spread of IBM zSeries technologies.A particular focus on IBM IMS, COBOL, JCL and DB2 technologies. Knowledge of CA Technologies Endevor is highly desirable.This should include experience of investigating existing complex mainframe solutions built by other teams and/or 3rd party suppliers.A good understanding of Life and Pension products is highly desirable.An improvement driven approach to software engineering with a passion for enhancing the way we deliver software at the same time as software delivery itself.A good understanding of quality software engineering and structuring applications to support testing.Experience working within an agile working environment and Scrum or Kanban.Please submit a copy of your CV for more details on this vacancy.Spring Technology acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
