Job Description

-Linux Development Engineer - Outside IR35-Edinburgh / Hybrid-6-month initial contract-Immediate Start-Outside IR35New opportunity to the market for a seasoned Engineer with a strong Linux administration and software development background to work for a large Edinburgh-based client - joining the existing global team as they continue their transformation journey. Theprimary aim is to assist in the launch of a new network automation platform.Primarily, you will be tasked with maintaining and developing network automation via Python as well as maintaining a Python codebase for network operations. The role also involves support and deployment of RHEL environments and automated build process.From an experience perspective, you will have spent time previously as a Linux Systems Administrator and also a developer writing code in Python - ideally you will also have recent DevOps pipeline and tooling exposure as well as experience of network automation.Skills and Experience Summary;

  • Unix - RHEL System administration
  • Solaris administration
  • Red Hat Satellite administration
  • Unix Automation
  • DevOps practices, with automation of infrastructure
  • Jenkins / Docker experience
  • Supporting Ansible playbooks
  • Ansible, including Ansible Tower deployment and administration
  • Load Balancer technologies
  • Familiarity with Agile working practices
  • Effective team working and technical decision making
  • Designing and leading infrastructure projects
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Broad stakeholder Management skills
