Job Description

Leisure Department ExecutiveOverview:Our client is an established and fast-growing Destination Management company with offices in the UK and Ireland. They are looking for a Leisure Department Executive in their Edinburgh office who has experience in the tourism industry and can hit the groundrunning.Benefits and pay range:

  • £dependent on experience. Permanent, Full Time Position.
  • Mon - Fri 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • Hybrid working option, + excellent company benefits
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Developing a clear understanding of the clients needs and deadlines, offering existing and new programmes to fulfil those needs and ensuring that the client has all the necessary material and information to present this information to their clients whetherin brochure or online format
  • Assist colleague in business development and operations of leisure and incentive group bookings
  • Update company information and sample programmes to reflect current special offers on the Travel Advisors websites of both Virtuoso and Signature Travel Networks
  • Generate client quotations and follow up, ensuring that all data is correct in the reservation system
  • Desk based and in person sales and marketing activities across the UK, Ireland and Overseas market places
  • General office duties including booking confirmations via fax and email, filing, processing reservations including the preparation of client vouchers and invoices through the Companys reservations system, and the distribution of client welcome packs
  • Periodic out of hours emergency phone coverage
  • Support with the supervision of any staff/trainees assigned to the area
  • Assisting with environmental and responsible tourism initiatives
Requirements and Qualifications:Essential:
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
  • Experience in a similar role/company is essential for this position
  • Luxury UK Tourism product a distinct advantage
  • Proven track record in the development of clients proposals and operating those programs to the highest level within a fast paced and competitive environment
  • Ability to meet agreed timelines/deadlines
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills who demonstrates pro activeness and initiative
  • Willingness to travel - mainly within UK & Ireland but also possibly to overseas locations
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office
Desirable:
  • Relevant degree qualification in Languages, Business or Tourism - desirable but not essential
