Job Description

Junior Project ManagerEdinburgh (hybrid 1-2 days in office)12 months with scope to extendSalary: £38,000 - £42,500Our client has a mission to build the bank of the future, and they need your help to do it!About the role:Junior Project Manager would be Edinburgh based, willing to spend 1-2 days in the office. Most important is excellent communication skills, someone with an outgoing personality, able to build relationships, build trust in others, take ownership for tasks andwilling to learn and grow in the role.In terms of a day in the life of a Junior Project Manager:

  • Join the team stand up. Highlight your objectives for the day, any blockers, support needed.
  • Support other Project Managers with activities
  • Run their own small project (or workstream) within a project. This will be engaging stakeholders to work on a shared outcome, understand what they need to do, when they can achieve it and monitor progress.
  • This would involve scheduling their own meetings, understanding the objective, building relationships with others, monitoring progress through excel or Microsoft project plans.
Key Capabilities:
  • Takes ownership for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organization and/or conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems.
  • Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and develops the capabilities of direct reports by working within existing development framework
  • Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management programme with guidance from a project/programme manager.
  • Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems.
  • Delivers outcomes by leading others and working within established systems.Delivers own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established programme management plan.
  • Delivers prescribed outcomes for a designated area, using risk management systems to ensure the organisation is not exposed to undue risks.
  • Achieves planned commitments by developing short-term and/or medium-term work schedules
Ideally the successful candidate would be able to evidence some (or all ) of the following:-
  • Recognised qualifications (e.g. degree in software development, management, or APMP in project management / PRINCE2)
  • Experience working in an office environment, team environment, or some relevant experience in the workplace.
  • Experience in a field that is delivery focused - managing others to an outcome, project management or change delivery management.
