Job Description

Michael Page have been exclusively appointed to recruit 2 Java Engineers for a growing Scottish business who have developed a data analytics platform to service a global FMCG client-base.Client DetailsA growing Scottish business who have developed a data analytics platform to service a global FMCG client-base by providing data insights to drive ROI.Description

  • Work with the Development Lead and Product Manager to define, shape and deliver features that will deliver real value to clients
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers helping them succeed in their careers
  • Have a passion for technology and are constantly learning
  • Enjoy working in small teams with the autonomy and authority to come up with the best solution
The platform is built on a modern tech stack, which evolves to ensure the best tools for the job are used:
  • The data platform is built with Java and NodeJS
  • Neo4J, ElasticSearch, MySQL and Google BigQuery are the primary datastores.
  • Looker is used for BI Visualisations
  • The service is built with React and NodeJS
  • Everything runs on Google Cloud Platform deployed with Kubernetes
Profile
  • A proven track record of solving complex systems and software design challenges
  • A talent for coding with strong skills in Java
  • A track record as a software engineer delivering complex technical products at scale
  • Good knowledge of database design
  • Familiarity with NoSQL technologies
  • Experience creating Restful APIs
