Job Description

FPSG are partnered with one of the UKs "top companies to work for" to secure a first class IT Manager to join their business and lead the IT service delivery. Ensuring stability and security of their information systems, supported by a small Team of ITexperts, this role will excite someone who can drive forward the work carried out on a modernisation journey which started in 2019, making their IT infrastructure more resilient and secure through the implementation of a digital roadmap. This is your chanceto lead on high-profile digital transformation projects with true recognition for your work and results assured.As you will be the person leading as IT Manager, working closely with an inspirational HR Director, the decision on how to best deliver the role is yours. So remote working, hybrid or based on-site in Edinburgh whenever practical or necessary is your call.This is testament to the modern, dynamic and positive environment that you will share with colleagues and stakeholders in-person and on-line.Technical Experience & Skills:

  • Microsoft 365 (SharePoint/Teams/Exchange Online Hybrid)
  • VMware & SAN
  • Intune & Auto Pilot Device Management
  • Azure (Core Concepts/IAAS management/Azure AD)
  • Networking (WIFI, Firewalls, Switches, VLANs) - Basic understanding of TCP/IP trouble shooting, in the areas of WIFI, AOVPN, DNS & Azure Networking.
  • Management & Automation of Windows Domain 2008 - 2019 In an Azure AD Hybrid Environment
  • Relevant certification an advantage (MCP, MSCA, MCTS, MSCE, Azure or 365)
  • Desirable: exposure to provision of hardware via a DAAS model
As IT Manager you will be
  • Leading the ongoing development, delivery and organisational alignment of the IT Infrastructure and Information Systems strategy, identifying opportunities for improvement while ensuring a steady state of delivery from the IT team into the business.
  • Leading your team to deliver an excellent service; based on the IT strategy, create annual plans for the team, assign budget and manage spend to achieve our plans, co-create team objectives, and ensure a professionally accredited team development plan isin place.
  • Regularly reporting on IT performance to the HR Director for the Exec team and Board and working regularly with our external strategic partner on the security and resilience of the IT infrastructure.
  • Embedding what weve already achieved as part of our digital roadmap, so we can continue to deliver maximum value across the organisation. Fundamentally, we are working for our staff; ensuring security, accessibility, unification, and usability of all information/dataof the organisation which will include cross-team working and significant collaboration.
  • Ensuring IT policies and procedures are up to date, developing these proactively.
  • Working with the HR Director and external strategic partners, contributing your expertise to the development of the next phases of our digital roadmap. Be driven and enthusiastic about taking ownership and accountability for delivery across the IT teamand organisation.
Some skills you will bring to the role:
  • Relevant experience managing an SME IT environment, where youve been responsible for all aspects of the operational IT function. Plus, wed like you to be able to monitor the IT environment using a variety of industry leading tools and make related improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience, and an up to date understanding of professionally accredited IT related pathways. Able to translate strategic plans into the team, lead the co-creation of IT team plans and support the team in all ways to deliverthis.
  • Experience of contributing your expertise to strategic IT plans, specifically co-creation and implementation, leading on delivering these projects and supporting organisations through IT change. Wed also like you to bring experience of creating and managinga budget (c£0.5m) and identify best placed delivery partners external to the organisation/procure effective services, hardware, and software to deliver the IT plan.
  • You must be able to translate stakeholder business processes into actionable IT services.
  • Have a good understanding of Cyber Security and best practice, with an understanding of Cyber Essentials and IT data governance (ISO 27001 preferable), ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Service Delivery Management, ideally with ITIL experience, full 3rd party stakeholder management, experience in creating IT Policies and Procedures and Asset Management (manage hardware, software and SAAS)
  • Strong diplomacy skills, able to build positive relationships at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders, continuously driving progress and overcoming challenges.
