Job Description

Our client, a national public sector organisation , have a short term requirement for a part time Internal Communications & Engagement Officer.This role is based in Edinburgh, with a degree of hybrid working.The role attracts an hourly rate of £13.43 based on a 3 day, 22 hour working week.You should have:

  • have a strong command of English
  • are used to working within a busy communications team
  • can prioritise workload in a reactive and ever-changing working environment
  • possess good people skills.
Key responsibilities, duties and objectives
  • Prepare, secure sign-off, and deliver internal communications through our corporate internal channels - intranet. all staff emails, quarterly ezine/newspaper, Friday Bulletin
  • Work with and support defined key stakeholders and Directors where relevant, on their engagement needs
  • Represent Internal Communications in various working groups and forums (e.g. LGBT+ Forum; Youth Forum)
  • Work with the Internal Communications team to seek content from across the organisation to create proactive, added-value communications
  • Assist in the delivery of staff engagement events
  • Work effectively with the Internal Communications team on the day-to-day news briefs
  • Complete content approval procedure accordingly.

  • A strong command of English, with confidence and adequate skills in both writing and editing content
  • Great people skills
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail, include planning, management of key processes and reporting
  • Ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritise and work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Enthusiastic and comfortable mixing with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to quickly pick up new technology/digital tools
  • A can do attitude
  • Creativity
  • Experience in using Office 365 applications
  • A knowledge of internal communications
  • Experience in SharePoint intranet sites
  • Experience in supporting internal staff events
  • Confidence in working with leaders
  • Knowledge of Slido Q&A software.
