Job Description

AEGONs internal audit team Provide expert, reliable, assurance opinions on the whole system of internal control, including risk management, which will enhance the quality of governance and decision making throughout the business, including the Boards, Auditand Risk Committees of each of the AUK Internal Audit customer entities and the Aegon NV Supervisory Board Audit Committee. The scope of the work includes a range of functions and legal entities across AUK.This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Aegon UKs Internal Audit team and use your knowledge of risk & controls and audit methods used to assess and support the Aegon business. Supporting with the delivery of audit assignments covering various topicsacross the business, working closely with the Engagement Lead (usually an Audit Manager) and Senior Auditor. You will be required to assigned tasks to be completed on time, to global IA quality standards, the UK CIIA Code for Effective Internal Audit in FinancialServices and appropriate company and regulatory standards. You will also support the Internal Audit function in the providing of assurance and insight to management. In addition, you will also require department tasks to be completed, as directed by the ChiefInternal Auditor, Heads of Audit and the IA Operations Manager.The Role:

  • You will provide support on a day to day basis for planning and performing audit assignments, including the preparation of an objective risk based assessment and effective audit approach, evaluating the adequacy and testing the effectiveness of controls.To complete assignments in line with departmental quality standards and within expected timescales.
  • Identify and evaluate business risks/impacts and develop practical recommendations that add value. To produce high quality workpapers that contribute to draft findings and reporting for review by the Audit Manager or Senior Auditor.
  • Provide knowledge and perform research to support financial / operational audits on aspects of functions and business activities under review.
  • actively develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of current audit methodologies and best practices.
  • provide information to the Audit Manager/ Senior Auditor as required on the status of audit points as part of the follow up process
  • Assist the Chief Internal Auditor, Heads of Audit and Audit Operations Manager, as required, in the development of the audit function, data collation and reporting tasks and in support of departmental objectives.
Skills/ Experience:
  • Proven track record of working in a within a financial services environment.
  • You will be analytical and methodical in your approach, with a strong track record of the completion of audit assignments.
  • Strong understanding of audit techniques and methodologies.
  • You will possess a strong understanding of the business impact of risks and the potential regulatory impact of findings.
  • You will boast exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain complex information in and easy to understand manner to stakeholders at all levels.
Education/Qualifications:
  • Graduate Level Education (or equivalent business experience)
  • CMIIA qualification or willingness to work toward this qualification.
How We Reward you:Salary for this role will be £26,400 - £33,000 DOE
