Venesky-Browns client, Vescala, is currently looking to recruit an HSQE Manager to join the business and deliver the company strategic objectives in relation to health, wellbeing, safety and the environment, in a sustainable way. The role will also ensure delivery of the company requirements in relation to quality and compliance, in particular for our work in the construction sector. The HSQE Manager will ensure all of the business statutory and legal obligations are being met in relation to workers compliance, health & safety.Company Overview:Vescala is a new to market digital workforce management platform that operates as a neutral Managed Service Provider (MSP) across multiple sectors, in particular construction and public sector. Responsibilities:• Manage effective operating procedures in line with the needs of the business for all HSQE processes• Maintain and support the implementation and management of the companies Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001). Management and attendance at company accreditation audits including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, RISQS, Achilles Building Confidence Maintaining company certificates - CIRAS, Cyber Essentials, For Cause, IIYP etc• Embed new behavioural based safety programme throughout the business and ensure Account Managers deliver on leadership responsibilities in relation to Health & Safety• Deliver accurate monthly Health & Safety statistics by site and Account Manager. Benchmark against competitors (ensure calculation is on same basis)• Support with tender and bid process sections in relation to HSQE• Support with the delivery of social media content production in relation to company best practice and HSQE• Feed into VBRs risk management process by identifying arising risks and providing proposals to mitigate. Able to identify new risks emerging and responsible for staff awareness and the mechanism for reporting new risks which could bring detriment to the business, members of staff or to customers.• Support the adoption of the VBRs technology to ensure all HSQE documentation is captured appropriately and shared with customers in an open, effective and modern manner• Lead the business internal audit regime including reporting to the Directors at board meetings any non conformances, actions required• Manage document control• Coordinate and perform external supplier audits• Liaising with external bodies to be aware of changing industry requirements• Attend networking events to promote the company - Edinburgh Chamber, Supply Chain SchoolEssential Skills:• Experience in delivering an HSQE programme in a listed or large organisation• Understanding of audit quality, accreditations including ISO certifications• Behavioural safety programme experience• NCRQ, NEBOSH and ideally CMIOSH qualified• A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations• Thorough knowledge of the risks associated with Health & Safety in the construction sector • Has the skills, knowledge, empathy and credibility to manage, motivate and retain a large workforce• Inspirational and influential with the drive to deliver best practice• Ability to deliver tangible, measurable results through appropriate people management• Ambitious, with a drive to lead a growing organisation and deliver on a strategic plan• Effective problem solver who remains calm under pressure and thrives in challenging situations• Able to work effectively to deadlines• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Competent user of IT systems and Microsoft Office packages• Innovative, self-confident, enthusiastic and positive• Experience in all aspects of quality assurance and familiar with Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001)• Experience of H&S - knowledge and administering and coordinating H&S processes.• Experience of compiling and presenting reports and analysing dataIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
