Job Description

Our client, an expanding business in the industrial sector in Edinburgh is looking to recruit an experienced HR and Admin Manager to oversee the HR Administration function within the organisation. Reporting into the Senior HR Manager, you will manage 3 HR Administrators and supervise and overseeing their workload. This is a hands-on role and you will need to get involved in HR Adminstration tasks.The role will be responsible for ensuring a comprehensive, efficient and effective HR administrative service is provided to the business and its employees and stakeholders.Role responsibilitiesYour responsibilities will be to ensure the HR Administration function:The HR Administration team is accountable for the following:

  • First port of call for HR related queries.
  • Forms and maintains employee records
  • Updates databases internally e.g. sickness absence and maternity leave
  • Prepares and amends where necessary HR documents e.g. employment contracts
  • Reviews and amends as necessary HR related company policies and procedures
  • Communicates with external providers and partners
  • Reports regularly on HR metrics such as employee turnover and absence
  • Is the first point of contact for employees with any HR related queries
  • Provides Payroll with relevant employee information g. salary and holidays
  • The development of reporting systems is required so management information on key HR related metrics can be routinely produced for Board and business reporting.
  • Person Specification
  • Previous recent experience of working within an HR environment
  • Hands-on, organised and efficient.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of employment law is important
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Articulate communicator and able to work with tact, diplomacy, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and balance conflicting priorities.
  • A strong team player and someone who takes accountability for their and the administration teams deliverables.
  • Able to prioritise workload and work on own initiative
  • Only candidates with previous HR experience will be considered for the role.In return you will receive 26 days holidays plus bank holidays, a 10% bonus and a salary of between £30,000-£35,000 (depending on experience)
