As a non-interventional service, specialising in Congenital Heart Disease, we are looking for a candidate to perform and report, pre and post operative cardiac diagnostics for our highly complex patients. The applicant must have experience in Echocardiography, Pacing and Rhythm Analysis with accreditation at BSE/BHRS level. Accreditation from EACVI in CHD would be advantageous.Our department routinely supports A&E, PICU, NICU, Oncology/Haematology and other wards/services with specialist cardiac diagnostics, many of which will require prompt reporting. An adaptable, confident applicant would be greatly welcomed for this role.We do not have an on-call commitment; our working is Monday to Friday, 5 days per week. One day per week, on a weekly rotation, we provide Cardiac Physiologist support to peripheral clinics in Fife, Tayside and Grampian. This support is purely an Echocardiography role, working autonomously alongside Consultant Cardiologist. This additional support is of great benefit for the care and management of children with Congenital Heart Disease across Scotland.Working closely with the Scottish Paediatric Cardiac Service in Glasgow, prompt data transfer and communication is essential for timely surgical/medical management. This role would take responsibility to ensure all available diagnostics are available and transferred to referring sites in a timely manner.Teaching and CPD is also widely recognised and supported within our department. Expectations of this position would be to deliver teaching to fellow Physiologist, Medical and Nursing colleagues with attendance to courses and meetings highly encouraged.Working within Paediatrics can be challenging but extremely rewarding. With such a wide age range; from Neonates to Young adults, communication and approachability is essential.
