Class 2 Drivers required!What are we looking forClass 2 Drivers for our client based in Edinburgh.Whats on offer Immediate starts Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work 8 hour shifts guaranteed. CPC Courses given yearly by the client so its up to date. Standard hours paid at £10.55 plus £1.27 holiday pay = £11.82. Saturday hours paid at £12.91 plus £1.56 holiday pay = £14.47. Sunday and Bank hol paid at £15.22 plus £1.84 holiday pay = £17.06For insurance purposes you must have held your Class 2 licence for a minimum of 1 year, with no bans or major endorsements.Various shifts, including:. Monday to Friday, 4/5 am start and finish around 1.30 to 2.30 (average 9.5 hours per day). Monday to Friday backshift, starting at 1 / 2pm and finishing around 9pm. Note, - backshift start time is determined by day shift finishing time, so will vary from route to route. No glass backshift routes.. Saturday and Sunday trade waste, skip and hooklift routes, worked on a semi rotational /voluntary basis and paid as overtime.. Bank Holidays, except Christmas and New Years Day. Aim for maximum coverage on bank holidays across all modes.The Job!. Driving either Trade Waste, Food Waste, Glass Waste, Front End Loader (FEL), Skip or Hooklift HGV Vehicle. On Trade Waste, Food and Glass routes - exiting vehicle at customer locations, moving bins to rear of vehicle to empty them, then returning to customer location. TW routes will also have bags to be lifted into rear of vehicle.. On Skip and Hooklift routes - exiting vehicle to attach chains or pin off compactors before operating of lifting equipment to load container onto rear of vehicle.. Operation of appropriate mechanism to tip load at Transfer Station.. Operation of hand held device containing route details, and to record safety hazards and other records relating to specific collection issues. Debrief with Dispatcher at end of day with feedback on any hazards or missed collections. Attendance at Safety Meetings, Tool Box Talks and ongoing CPC courses throughout year to attain renewal of qualification (Biffa CPC courses funded by company).Additional Info please read:It is expected that all drivers will work a minimum of 3 bank holidays per annum, and take reasonable turns at working overtime on weekends. But, working hours are closely monitored to ensure no-one is asked to work additional hours if they are close totheir maximum under the Working Time Directive or Driver Hours.Note - depending on volume of weekend work, there is also an option to work an alternative pattern such as Saturday to Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday off. Shift patterns are in line with business needs.Essential skills and experience:. HGV2 license - preferably min 2 years driving experience - and CPC qualification. Driving experience to cover road driving - not shunting or driving within a yard. Our routes cover a combination of driving within City Centres, country roads, motorways and some areas with restricted access. Driving within customer premises can also presentobstacles which require drivers to negotiate their way around - or report as safety issues if access is unsafe.. Preferably prior experience of waste industry due to technical knowledge required of how some wastes must be handled, but training will be provided if applicant comes from another driving sector. Experience of manual handling operations, but training on waste specific (eg, handling of bins) will be given.
