Job Description

Morgan Hunt are delighted to be partnering with a public sector organisation in Edinburgh in their search for Health & Safety Officer.As the Health & Safety Officer your primary role is to actively support the Head of Estates, Operations & Maintenance Manager and Estates Team in the operational management and delivery of all Health, Safety & Welfare related works and service delivery activitiesto ensure a safe and compliant environment for the collections, staff and visitors.Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to)

  • Assist the Head of Estates with H & S, BCM and Reporting activities including the collation of the Estates Risk Register, identifying, monitoring and where possible mitigating risk
  • Responsible for the preparation and management of CDM Health & Safety files, including pre- construction information, on capital projects, reviewing, updating, and revising as projects progress.
  • Provide active support to the Operations & Maintenance Manager in the operational management of all Health, Safety and Welfare related works and activities.
  • Provide active support and oversight to the Estates Team on all operational and policy H&S statutory compliance requirements.
  • Lead and manage the estates operational Health and Safety policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Responsible for carrying out Estate service delivery risk assessments and on request review contractors risk and method statemen
Skills, abilities, and knowledge
  • Achieved a professional qualification: NEBOSH General Certificate, Construction Certificate or
  • NVQ level 3 in Occupational Health & Saf
  • Understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and the application of
  • Experienced in undertaking site-based audits ideally within a construction-based environment g. Risk Assessments, PUWER Assessments & COSHH Assessments
