Job Description

Our client, an FMCG who boasts over half a century of experience in the food production industry with numerous sites throughout the UK, has informed us of a new opportunity in one of their locations in Edinburgh. They require a part time Health, Safety,and Environmental Coordinator.This is an excellent opportunity for those who have extensive knowledge within the HSE sector.Job Role

  • Ensuring a safe environment is maintained throughout the production site - by educating employees and incorporating training schedules.
  • Utilising the allocated budget set from the company, maintaining and developing systems effectively to secure the protection of colleagues.
  • Advise all colleagues on legislation relating to health and safety and maintaining targets to deliver business objectives - adhering strictly to all compliance.
  • Maintaining and implementing the risk management system in the workplace, specifying the highest risk areas on site through investigations and ensuring the corrective actions are taken.
The candidate
  • Experience in a health and safety environment - which have delivered positive outputs for business
  • Ability to handle accident reporting systems, initiate investigations and implement corrective actions
  • NEBOSH national certificate in occupational health and safety
  • GCSE Level C or equivalent in maths and English is required
  • Experience in a production plant would be preferred
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems and a background in using HSE databases
  • Knowledge of how to handle audits.
  • An enthusiastic and motivational attitude within the workplace, whilst being decisive in tough circumstances.
