Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a Head of Operations - Hard Facilities Management for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£450-500/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will remote based initially.Responsibilities:• To be responsible for the operational line management of Hard FM services and staff. Line management of area managers, contract management where applicable and budget responsibilities for Hard FM operational budgets.• Responsible for leading strategies and programmes directed towards the effective and efficient delivery of all Estates Operational Services throughout Lothian.• Responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and processes associated with the delivery of Facilities Management.• Ensuring full compliance across all premises and services, all statutory requirements are met and full audit trails and governance associated with such items.• To work in partnership with all stakeholders (including close working with Infection Prevention) to deliver an effective operation facilities model and ensure Facilities meets the strategic targets set for all land, buildings and equipment management to meet all needs.Requirements:• Degree in (Estates Management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building services design and management) and/or equivalent level of experience demonstrating competencies to undertake the role.• Desired MSc/MBA in Estates/Facilities.• Membership of a Chartered Institute or member of equivalent engineering professional body.• Significant experience in a senior management position within a Facilities Management environment in either the Public or Private sectors.• Developed leadership skills enhanced by excellent behavioural competencies particularly those that relate to influencing and achieving change in a service environment e.g. use of influencing strategies, persuasiveness, achievement drive, quality focus and patient/customer orientation.• Significant experience of managing staff in a complex operational environment and in managing large and complex budgets.• Experience of large building service projects that involve refurbishment or buildings that remain operational and in use during works.• Experience of managing diverse multi-site/building hard FM services.• Managing outsourced building service maintenance services and planned preventative maintenance programmes.• Previously held Responsible Person role e.g. Water Treatment (Legionella) or Management of Asbestos• Must have in depth knowledge of the legislative and mandatory needs of healthcare engineering and other Hard FM services.• Desirable to have experience of project/programme management and/or experience of managing multiple building service capital projects within a senior management capacity.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
