Job Description

Join us as a Head of Financial Crime Risk Management

  • Youll be reporting in a dual role to the NWH Director of Financial Crime Risk (DOFCR) and Group Chief Financial Crime Risk Officer (CFCRO)
  • The purpose of the role is to provide holistic oversight of pan-bank financial crime risk management, governance, reporting and insights
  • Youll act as the primary point of contact in support of the DOFCR and CFCRO pan bank for holistic oversight, risk management, governance and specialist reporting of financial crime risk and insights
  • What youll doAs the deputy to the Group CFCRO, youll be responsible for defining and providing holistic insights into Financial Crime management information that is comprehensive, transparent and focused on material risks and trends that allows Senior Management to possess sufficient information to understand and manage financial crime risks at an aggregated, legal entity, franchise and jurisdictional level, including annual GMLRO Report and specialist papers to Board and Executive Committees. In this role, youll pick up priority and unexpected activity, anticipating how emerging issues in the industry will impact the bank Youll also:
  • Lead and direct the SLOD Testing & Monitoring plans and activity for NWH and Group to support SMF17 and SMF7 oversight
  • Lead a team which is accountable for making sure that the business strategy is compliant with the financial crime policy, external laws and regulations
  • Build relationships with the business, delivering advice on transactions, customers or situations that involve financial crime matters
  • Oversee the development and implementation of risk and control mechanisms for the business, independently overseeing and challenging effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetites
  • Support and coach the mentoring of colleagues and more junior managers
  • The skills youll needYoull need a deep understanding of the financial service industry, a robust and broad understanding of risk management principles and regulatory framework, and technical expertise of relevant political and legislative developments across the financial industry, with the ability to guide and influence business representatives on related matters. Youll also need:
  • A solid understanding of regulators and ability to manage relationship with external partners
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the bank
  • To be highly organised and committed to outcomes, with the ability to manage a number of people and scenarios simultaneously
