Job Description

Graduate Geologist Location EdinburghContract: Full time, PermanentSalary £30,000 per annumMaptek is a global organisation supplying technical products and services to the mining industry. Our Edinburgh office is an easy-going team of sales and technical professionals who work across Europe, North & West Africa, and the Middle East.The Technical Services Graduate Geologist is part of the team that delivers training, consulting, and technical support to users of Maptek products.Some of what you would do

  • Develop and maintain expertise in geological applications for Maptek products
  • Provide on-site implementation and training
  • Assist users to implement process improvements based on new developments and techniques
  • Provide technical consulting services
  • Contribute to product testing and bug reporting
  • Provide technical support to address customer problems
What we need from you
  • An interest in working in the mining industry
  • University qualification in Geology or Geoscience
  • An interest in developing new techniques and processes
  • Great initiative and results focus
  • A resourceful and independent approach to solving problems
  • A passport and driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and work at customer sites
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and reading comprehension skills in the English language
  • Competence in French will be an advantage
  • Must have a right to work in the United Kingdom
We are offering
  • A permanent, full-time position, 40h per week
  • Starting annual salary of £30k with a defined progression pathway
  • 7% employer pension contributions
  • 31 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
  • Available for an immediate start but flexible timing for the right candidate
