Job Description

Enigma People Solutions is recruiting a graduate Analog IC Design engineer to work on state-of-the-art automotive power IC’s. You will be joining an expanding team that is recognised world-wide as providing market leading advanced power control IC’s for a broad range of product applications. Working from our client’s European Design Centre in Edinburgh your work will be part of new product development plans.RESPONSIBILITIESIn this position, you will work on motor control mixed-signal IC’s with responsibilities ranging from cell design to whole chip development. You will take a project from the preliminary data sheet stage through circuit architecture, design, simulation, supervising layout and on to bench evaluation and debugging. The successful candidate will support the corporate sales growth objectives.The job remit includes the following:

  • Transistor level MOS and bipolar analog design - blocks such as comparators, charge pumps, op-amps, power stages, linear regulators, ADC’s etc.
  • Design of analog and mixed-signal systems/architectures and building blocks including testing and supervision of layout activities
  • Bench evaluation of silicon.

  • Liaise with other Design Engineering team members.
  • Liaise with Systems, Layout and Digital Group Team members.

  • Liaise with off-site Design Engineering teams as required.
  • QualificationsEssential
  • The successful candidate will possess at least a 2: 1(Hons) Bachelors degree in Electronics or related field.
  • DesirablePreference will be given to candidates who also possess the following:
  • Familiarity with motor control methods and power switching techniques.
  • Experience with mixed-signal design environments.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso design tools (MMSIM/Spectre/APS/AMS).
  • Skills, Knowledge and AptitudesCandidates should also be able to demonstrate:
  • Good presentation skills in English and the ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • A high level of commitment and self-motivation
  • The ability to work as part of a world-wide development team with diverse engineering disciplines.
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • National Travel: 5%
  • International Travel: 5%
  • Dependent on work that may arise, most likely travel will be within Europe, the Americas and Asia.
