Are you someone who is passionate about front end development with experience in React/Redux!Sopra Steria have an excellent opportunity for an experienced UI Developer, covering the full creative digital spectrum across projects, youll be joining the Government Architecture and Engineering Centre of Expertise (CoE) to deliver focused, innovative solutionsto a range of government clients along with supporting our wider portfolio of clients across the UK. This role calls for an individual with excellent front end experience and a desire to continue personal and professional development. Sitting in the CoE youwill be pivotal in driving best practice and high standards among the team.This role is hybrid and so can be done from home with occasional travel into one of our offices based in London Edinburgh, Hemel Hempstead or Salford Quays.What youll be doing:- Working at the senior level, your role will also bring in aspects of team leadership, using your experience to inspire others and bring energy to new projects.- Youll be working across all things UI, from groundwork research through to rapid prototypes- UI research for multi-platform projects, optimizing user journeys and product interactions- Manage multiple projects from prototype to launch in a fast paced environment- Proactively look for opportunities for reuse, to adhere to style guides and uniformity within and across projects- Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, liaising between creative, technology and business teams- Present and defend design deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders- Working in collaboration with passionate people in an open and creative environment- Promote design thinking and advocate design principles and best practicesWhat youll bring:- Industry experience and strong work samples which demonstrate your process and the finished project- Demonstrable knowledge, experience in and passion for user centered design practices for web, service or software development using React.js and JavaScript.- Proven experience of understanding user needs for web content, tools and transactional services, especially those with the most complex user journeys.- Experience introducing and establishing design thinking practices in an organisation.- Be able to sketch and prototype on paper and in HTML- Be able to work quickly in an agile environment- Be able to explain ideas in a way that other people understand- Welcome the constructive criticism of their work and be able to constructively review the work of others- Know how to interpret user research and use this to develop ideas- Be able to write content for user interfaces- Put forward the case for design with a product manager- Collaborate on designs with a developer- Engage the whole multidisciplinary team with the design process- Lead and design and facilitate workshops with users and stakeholdersIt would be great if you had:- An understanding of project delivery methodologies, including Agile- Containerisation/orchestration platforms like Docker & Kubernetes- Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment workflowsIf you are interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what were looking for, please do apply, wed love to hear from you!Employment Type: Full-time, PermanentLocation: Hybrid Variable (Can be aligned to London, Edinburgh, Hemel Hempstead or Salford Quays)Security Clearance Level: SCInternal Recruiter: OllySalary: Up to £50,000Benefits: 25 days annual leave with the choice to buy additional days, life assurance, pension, and generous flexible benefits fundAlthough this role is advertised as full-time, we support many ways of working and can offer a range of flexible working arrangements.
