A well-known Scottish company is looking for a couple of Front End Developers to bolster their team. The company are known all over the world and are working on an exciting project at the moment, re-designing and re-developing their whole platform.This is a chance to come in for two years and work on this project from design to delivery as their platform gets used more and more across the world.What will I be doingGood question!As mentioned, theyre currently working on an exciting project at the minute which you will be heavily involved in.As a Front End Developer, your main responsibility will be to take designs from the design teams and build new components for the platforms User Interface. You will work closely with the Back End team to ensure that the design of the User Interface is consistent between the Front End and Back End.From a purely tech stack point of view, they are using HTML5, CSS3, SASS and JavaScript. Most of the companys platforms are built in Vue.js so if youve got commercial experience and are comfortable using this then this could be the perfect role for you! The company are also open to seeing people with commercial experience with any of the other Front End JavaScript frameworks, especially React.Who am IIdeally, youll have commercial experience working in Front End positions using Vue.js, React or Angular. As Ive previously mentioned, someone with experience using Vue.js is obviously going to stand out as youll be able to come in and hit the ground running! Someone that has working experience of UX & UI best practices will stand out as well.Dont worry, this isnt one of those organisations who wants a ninja, superstar, superhero … just someone as I mentioned above that is fanatical about their craft. They also dont care if you are self-taught, have a degree, worked as a Scientist or a pro sportsperson in a previous life. They know good developers come from all sorts of different backgrounds.Who will I be working withA very collaborative bunch!The technical team is split into a Front End team and a Back End team but the teams still work very closely together. Youll obviously work closer with the Front End team but will still have the opportunity to collaborate with the Back End specialists as well and might even have the opportunity to help them out too! Not only will you work closely with the Back End team, youll work closely with the Project Management team, Content team and UX team as well.The company really do love collaboration and working together and are constantly challenging each other to improve and grow.What are the benefits and where will I be basedThe company have a range of £30,000 to £35,000 for these 2-year fixed term contract roles.One of the most exciting things about this role is that you can be based anywhere in Scotland for it. Everyone at the company is working remotely at the moment and the plan is to continue with this for the foreseeable with people maybe having to go into the office of their choice once per week.
