Job Description

Sector: Engineering, Aerospace, Defence Role: Firmware EngineerType: ContractLocation: EdinburghRate: Up to £50 an hourWorking with ground-breaking technology a Prestigious Engineering Company based Edinburgh are seeking a contract Firmware Engineer to join and work on an exciting 6-month project, with possibility of extension. The rate on offer is up £50 an hour depending on experience.Role: The successful Firmware Engineer will be responsible for design and development of Firmware designs using VHDL.The successful Firmware Engineer will have experience in the following areas:

  • 3-5+ years industry experience
  • VHDL based FPGA design & verification techniques
  • Good experience of developing firmware using VHDL or Verilog
  • De-bugging firmware designs and supporting integration & verification at hardware and system level
  • FPGA technologies from either Xilinx or Altera
  • Version Control – GIT, SVN
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics FPGA development tools including HDL Designer, ModelSim / Questa and Precision
  • Relevant experience in the Aerospace, Defence industry
  • Embedded Software in C, C++
