Role Title: Financial Crime Investigator, National InvestigatorLocation: Edinburgh (flexible working available)Duration: Till 31/03/2022Rate: Up to £275 PAYE or Up to £352.88 UmbrellaA sub-function of Compliance, Financial Crime Threat Mitigation (FC) is HSBCs industry-leading, global capability to identify, analyse, and investigate financial crime risk proactively, effectively, and efficiently, and ensure proper mitigation of theserisks. FC harnesses intelligence, analytics, technology, investigation, information sharing, and public-private partnership to achieve this end. FC is building HSBCs Intelligence-Led Financial Crime Risk Management (ILFCRM) approach to enable the bank tomake a step change in the way it identifies and manages financial crime risk by leveraging data using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.The team investigates all suspicious activity across multiple financial crime types, and this can involve dealing with issues for which there is no clear-cut solution whilst still being able to apply judgment. Where items of major consequence are involved,reference is made to the Team Lead or the Global Head of Complex Investigations.The role-holder will oversee triaging, collect data points from other parts of the business (as required) to ensure smooth running of live validation, and capture necessary MI to produce metrics required to assess if DRA is indicative of customer risk. Therole holder will also assist in filing UARs, raising RFIs, refining investigations processes, and participate briefing very senior stakeholders in the business and within FCR.The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing financial crimes threats, geopolitical, economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operatingprocedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
