Job Description

New Temporary role - FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - public sector based in Edinburgh West.Full time, mostly from home - 1 day per week in the office.Monday to Friday, 9-5pm.£32,000 - £36,000paClient DetailsMy client is a well known public body based in Edinburgh.Description

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of the year end statutory annual accounts ensuring compliance with best practise and current IFRS, FReM and SPFM requirements.
  • Support in the upkeep of annual accounts framework to ensure compliance with all accounting requirements and legislation.
  • Interact with external audit to meet audit deliverables.
  • Assist with assurance reporting to senior leadership team to ensure balance sheet account reconciliations are up to date.
  • Embed the new capital asset management framework, including development and implementation of a new capital asset management tool and processes.
  • Support with development and upkeep of capital asset management business as usual processes and activities within the Financial Accounting team.
  • Assisting with review of accounting policies as required with wider FPU, making recommendations to senior management around compliance with best practice and current IFRS, FReM and SPFM requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with Finance Business Partners, assist with providing technical financial expertise to Finance and the wider organisation in line with best practice and all current IFRS, FReM and SPFM requirements
ProfileThe successful candidate will be part qualified or qualified by experience with good knowledge of of financial accounting and reporting requirements including IFRS.Good grasp of the process of the annual report and accounts process e.g creating good audit evidence files.Advanced level excel skills including Pivot tables and V lookupRobust account reconciliation skills.Ability to build and undertake key processes, controls and reconciliations. e.g. Capital asset register managementProfessional report writing skills.Job OfferNew Temporary role - FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - public sector based in Edinburgh West.Full time, mostly from home - 1 day per week in the office.Monday to Friday, 9-5pm.£32,000 - £36,000pa
