Job Description

Our client, a leading charity in Edinburgh is seeking to appoint a Finance Officer on an interim to permanent or straight permanent basis asap.Client DetailsA leading charity in Edinburgh.Description

  • To process all banking transactions, including all payments and receipts, ensuring the highest attention to detail, to achieve accuracy and completeness and within the required deadlines to meet management account reporting deadlines.
  • Responsible for resolving all banking queries and preparing bank reconciliations. Be the main liaison with the business banking contacts
  • Responsible for all accounting system payments to be made. Review bank balances and advise on inter account transfers to maintain interest accounts at optimal levels
  • Responsible for the accounts receivable ledger, raising all customer invoices. Perform a credit control function, to ensure customer payments terms are met and bad debts do not arise
  • Responsible for monitoring local authority income, ensuring that all relevant documents are received and filed centrally. Ensure a monthly monitoring schedule is maintained
  • Responsible for the compilation and submission of gift aid returns to HMRC.
  • To compile the payroll changes forms to be submitted to our external payroll provider on a monthly basis, ensuring the highest attention to detail, to achieve accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with HR to ensure that all documentation is received and completed correctly and queries are resolved as required
  • To review the reports produced by the payroll provider to ensure the changes submitted have been processed correctly. To progress any queries with the payroll provider to completion and feedback to HR
  • Review applications payments, ensuring compliance with procedures.
Profile
  • Previous experinece within a similar finance role would be beneficial and any experience of being involved in payroll would be a real benefit.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and display innovative approaches to role
Job OfferThe salary is between £23-25k + benefit package.
