Job Description

Finance Manager Search are partnered with one of Scotlands leading boutique legal firms who pride themselves on providing excellent service to their long standing clients. Due to continued growth and an upcoming IT project they are looking to add a newly created FinanceManager position to the team.This role would cover a broad remit including the management accounts and oversight of the billing team and anti-money-laundering team.Main Duties:

  • Cashflow and profit and loss forecasting
  • Annual budget and cashflow preparation
  • Responsible for preparation and submission quarterly VAT returns, FCA returns, government statistical returns, P11D submissions and PAYE settlement agreement returns
  • Authorisation of online bank payments, both client and firm, on a daily basis
  • Review and sign off of monthly payrolls
  • Tax analysis and preparation of draft tax computations
  • Management of the Cashroom Supervisor and Billing Manager
  • Management of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Team and all its operations
  • Proposing and implementing continuous process improvements
  • Responsibility for the completion of all annual insurance policy renewals.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed commentary
  • Presentation of accounts and commentary to the Management Board
  • Preparation and sign off of year end accounts including liaison with auditors
  • Preparation of financial analysis for reporting to various senior leaders
  • Preparation of net profitability reporting at group, team and individual level
Required Experience:
  • ICAS/ICAEW/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant
  • Previous experience within an SME environment
  • Organised and able to work autonomously as well as lead successful teams
  • Happy to "roll your sleeves up" as and when required
